Kindergarten
Welcome to St. Mary's Kindergarten. Mrs. Draper is the Kindergarten teacher.
Our Kindergarten is a full day program for five days a week. The children have Six Grade buddies that assist them in becoming familar with the hot lunch program, sit with them at weekly liturgy on Fridays, reading buddies during Reading Month, and do a spring musical together. There is snack time during the morning for our students. This includes a snack and a drink provided by each student.
Math
Kindergarten Math is through Sadlier/Oxford series, Reading is through Open Court Collection for Young Scholars, Science, Social Studies, Religion is through Sadlier, and Handwriting.
Classroom Management
Kindergarten's Classroom Management is based on the Workshop Way. It is task oriented to develop independent work and thinking skills. A great variety of activities utilized in this approach to further develop/enrich reading, math, and handwriting skills.
Field Trips
Kindergarten Field Trips vary each year but include Dahlem Center for Science, Storyfest, and a play at the Potter Center.
